Tate Cole—
Whiskey River, the second single from Queensland country artist, Tate Cole, follows his successful debut single, Purgatory.
Whiskey River is an upbeat yet repentant tale of life on the road and love lost. It was written by Tate, Kane Vincent, and Cody Walker, and produced by Jared Adlam.
“Whiskey River has become one of my favourite songs, mixing some of my favourite parts of different types of country, incorporating my favourite country instruments such as fiddle and pedal steel. I’ve been told I write upbeat songs with sad lyrics, and that’s no different with this one. Whiskey River came when two friends needed a place to stay late one night, then deciding to write a song together the next morning. I was sadly on my way to a funeral, but decided we had time to write together quickly before I left. Working together, the song told our communal story of life on the road and the struggles that come with it.”
